Program Director & High School Varsity Head Coach

Prior to joining the Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association as Program Director and Varsity Head Coach, Bruce served as an Assistant Coach to University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Head Lacrosse Coach Joe Breschi from 2016 through 2018. Before that, Bruce was Director for 3D Northern California from 2014-2016, and Associate Head Coach at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut from 2005-2014. Bruce also spent two seasons on the lacrosse coaching staff at Fairfield University.

Bruce played collegiate lacrosse at Division III Eastern Connecticut State University in Windham, Connecticut. 

Upon learning of Bruce’s decision to lead the SCLA lacrosse program, UNC Lacrosse Head Caoch Breschi said, “I’m thrilled for Bruce and the entire Southlake lacrosse community. He is a terrific relationship guy, and what impressed me the most was his ability to connect with players. Bruce brings great versatility to Southlake with his extraordinary knowledge of both sides of the ball and his ability to lead. We will miss him in Chapel Hill but the future is bright for him in Southlake.” 

justin anderson

High School Offensive Coordinator

Justin Anderson comes to Dragon Lacrosse  as a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a Bachelor of Administration degree in Sports Administration. A member of the UNC men’s lacrosse team as a midfielder since 2016, Anderson was elected by his teammates and coaches as co-captain three years in a row. He led his team to the Atlantic Coast Conference championships in 2017 and 2021 and to the 2021 NCAA tournament semi-finals – UNC men’s lacrosse first trip to the championship weekend since 2016 and 14th in school history. 

Anderson was a scholarship athlete for one of the best collegiate programs in the country and earned individual honors by being named to the All-ACC team in 2021, a four-time honoree to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and a two-time member of the All-ACC Academic Team. 

Anderson is currently playing professional lacrosse with the Chrome Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. 

nick sagraves

High School Assistant Coach

Nick joined our staff in the fall of 2022. Prior to the transition to TX, Nick worked as the Director of Operations for the UNC men's lacrosse program in Chapel Hill, NC. Prior to Carolina, Sagraves spent four years with the Swarm after joining the organization in 2015 during which time he oversaw the logistics for player equipment, team practices, field preparations and youth development camps. For two of those four years, Sagraves also served as Regional Director for Thunder LB3 Lacrosse. As regional director, he coordinated team practice schedules while designing and implementing various youth development camp curriculums across the club teams.

Sagraves has a multitude of experiences working in youth development at each stage in his post-collegiate career. On top of his responsibilities with the Swarm and with Thunder LB3 Lacrosse, the Winterville, N.C. spent four years as the coach of Centennial High School’s varsity and junior varsity men’s lacrosse programs and two years as an instructor at The 411 Brand, expanding the game and teaching stick stills to at-risk elementary school children in the Atlanta area.

Sagraves graduated from Greensboro College where he was a member of the Pride’s men’s lacrosse program. He captained the team his senior season in 2015 and was the recipient of the Academic Scholarship award and Academic All-Conference honors. Upon graduation, Sagraves traveled to Prague, Berlin, Australia, and Scotland playing lacrosse for Team USA.

High School JV Head Coach

Jake grew up in Maryland where he played lacrosse. He graduated from Mt Olive - D2 program in North Carolina. 

Shawn is a graduate of Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, VA where graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. As a player Shawn was a 5x All Conference player,  1x Player of the year, and 2x Pre-season All American. He's the program leader in all time points at 373.
